Labour shortages are common and can affect businesses in many industries. You may find your business needs staff, but there may not be local workers available to take on these roles, or they don’t have the specialised skills required to fill a position. Sponsoring an overseas worker may be a solution to help overcome your labour shortage.

Employer sponsored visas enable Australian businesses to employ suitable overseas workers to fill positions within their business when they can’t find suitably qualified Australian workers.

Type of Personal Visa
Wings International has worked with businesses for many years to bring foreign workers into Australia on employer sponsored visas. Working with you, we will ensure all sponsor and employee requirements are met so any overseas workers you employ can start working for you without delay.

When it comes to employer sponsored visas, there are a few options available.

The Employer Sponsored Visa

The Temporary Skill Shortage visa (TSS) enables employers to sponsor overseas workers to fill labour shortages within their business. There are four streams:

  • Short-term stream

  • Medium-term stream

  • Labour agreement stream

  • Subsequent entrant

Each of these streams allows applicants to stay in Australia for varying amounts of time.

Temporary Skill Shortage Visa

The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme allows employers in designated regional areas of Australia to address critical skill shortages by sponsoring skilled overseas workers when suitable Australian workers are not available.

There are three distinct streams under this scheme:

  • Employer Sponsored Stream

  • Labour Agreement Stream

  • Subsequent Entrant

Each stream has its own eligibility requirements, conditions, and permitted length of stay.

Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS)

The Employer Nomination Scheme enables Australian employers to nominate skilled overseas workers for permanent residency in Australia.

This visa includes three streams:

  • Direct Entry Stream

  • Labour Agreement Stream

  • Temporary Residence Transition Stream

The Employer Nomination Scheme provides a clear pathway to permanent residency for skilled professionals.
